Our Approach
We combine community action with approaches that can influence wider change.
Sport for Development
-
Using football, netball and structured dialogue to engage young people, prevent VAWG, challenge harmful gender norms and promote respect, healthy relationships, positive masculinity, safeguarding and leadership.
-
Our existing school work includes girls' safe spaces, peer leadership and safeguarding support for teachers and coaches.
Community Action
-
Working with schools, families, community groups, churches, local leaders and other trusted structures.
-
AAF Kenya's existing work has included community education, mentorship and collaboration with child welfare, education, police, legal and health professionals.
Policy & Advocacy
-
Taking community priorities and evidence into county, regional and national decision-making, and advocating for stronger protection, health and rights systems.
Partnerships & Systems Change
-
Working with government, health systems, schools, civil society, researchers and regional institutions to strengthen services and create sustainable change.
